Your career is mountain that you have to continue to climb.
Quote Of The Week
“Discipline the consistency of certain actions after all motivation has left. Discipline is a dangerous tool that only a few acquire”
Newsletter Of The Week
Your baseball career will become a mountain that you have to climb. With that perspective, think for a second about all the thousands of baseball players who are currently climbing their mountain. Many start the climb without actually knowing where they are going and what they are working for. Many are obsessed with climb at the bottom of the mountain, but weather out as the slopes get steep. Only a select few actually finish that climb. When I say a select few, I mean it. Many ball players do not make it to the top of the mountain. Whether it’s the mental turmoil that a ball player goes through in this game of baseball or a physical injury that slows a ball player’s success, many ball players find a reason to quit climbing this mountain. Why do some finish the climb and succeed while others stop short?
How do you keep on climbing when things get hard?
How do you succeed in performance to continue to climb the ranks of all the ball players out there?
Are there things that the successful do that the ones who fail do not do?
Today we will answer these questions from the perspective of someone that has climbed that mountain and watched many others make it, and many others not make it to the top.
How to climb that mountain:
Consistent Work Ethic: first and foremost, most ball players who climb that mountain have understood they were climbing a mountain from a very young age. They understood the importance of hard work, focus, and consistency at a young age. Many of the guys that make it to the top have always had a sense of urgency in their work ethic. They have always felt the need to get better every single day. This drove their consistency which became the foundation of their success.
Excitement for Competition: most ball players who finish the climb have a competitive ego that dominates others in competition. They never run from a challenge and the very best competition EXCITES them instead of FRIGHTENS them. They believe they should be on the field with the best, and they do what it takes to get there and win.
Unwavering Confidence: all of the ball players at the top have an UNWAVERING confidence. They’re confident on their bad days, good days, and all the days in between. They do not let a coach, player, or failure damage their belief. Every time they take the field, they are believing they are the best on the field. When the mountain gets tough to climb, they get more confident!
